Here’s how you can password protect your website so that you can share it with others without publishing the site:
Got to the settings on the website you want to password protect
Click on “Site Availability”
Click on “Password Protect” and set a password. The password you set will be the password that has to be typed in to enter the website
Click “Save”
Once you set the password, you can go to the “Domains” section to find the domain you can share with others.
When you go to the website link, you will be brought to a page asking for a password, you will then input the password you set. .
If you’re wanting to have a link where the users don’t have to type the password, here’s a quick tip that will allow you to do that
You will want to add “/?password=”password you input” after the link
Here’s an example of what it would look like:
semicircle-coral-fd8p.squarespace.com/?password=1234
You will first copy and paste the domain or website link, you will then add “/?password=” and after the = you will want to type out the password you have.
If you share that whole link to others, they won’t have to input the password.
