How to Recover a Deleted Page in Squarespace
To recover a deleted page in Squarespace, open the Pages panel and scroll to the very bottom, where you will find Trash. Deleted pages stay there for 30 days, and you restore one by clicking it and choosing to restore.
Restoring from Trash
Open the Pages panel from your dashboard and scroll right to the bottom. Below all your navigation sections there's a Trash folder, which is easy to miss because nothing draws attention to it.
Click it and you'll see everything deleted in the last 30 days.
Find your page, click it, and choose to restore. It comes back with its content, layout and settings intact, usually landing in the Not Linked section rather than back in your navigation.
Drag it back into your menu if that's where it belongs. Then check it, because restoring brings the page back but doesn't necessarily put it back exactly where it was.
The 30-day limit, and what isn't covered
After 30 days, deleted pages are gone permanently and support can't retrieve them. That's the hard limit worth knowing.
Not everything goes to Trash either. Individual blocks and sections you delete while editing don't, which is why undo matters in the moment. Blog posts deleted from within a blog collection behave differently from pages. And a deleted site is a separate recovery process with its own, shorter window.
If you've deleted something that isn't in Trash and it's recent, contact Squarespace support quickly rather than experimenting. The odds fall off fast.
Checking the URL still works
This is the part people forget, and it's the part that matters for SEO.
If the deleted page had traffic or inbound links, restoring the content doesn't automatically mean the old URL works again. Check the page's slug matches what it was before, because a restored page occasionally comes back with a modified URL.
Load the original URL and confirm it resolves. If it doesn't, either change the slug back or set a redirect from the old address to the new one under Settings, Developer Tools, URL Mappings.
If the page was down long enough for Google to notice, request reindexing in Search Console once it's back.
Avoiding this next time
A few habits make deletion much less frightening.
Before any significant restructuring, duplicate the site. That gives you a full copy of the design and content to fall back on.
Instead of deleting pages you might want later, move them to Not Linked and switch on Hide Page from Search Results. They're then out of the way without being gone, which is covered in hiding a page.
And export your content periodically from Settings, Import and Export. It's an XML file of your text, which isn't a full backup but means your words survive anything.
If it isn't in Trash
Check whether more than 30 days have passed, which is the usual answer.
Check whether it was a page or a section within a page, since sections don't go to Trash at all.
Check whether someone else with access deleted it from a different account, though Trash is shared across contributors so it should still appear.
And if it's genuinely gone, the fastest rebuild route is often the Wayback Machine, which frequently has a copy of the page you can work from rather than starting blank.
