Drool Visuals

A production company’s site should feel like their reel.
Drool Visuals is a video production company in the San Francisco Bay Area whose client list includes Apple, GoPro, Red Bull, Meta, and Ford. When they came to me, they already had a Squarespace draft from a previous designer, and it wasn’t doing their work justice.

The starting point
The draft sat on a stock template. A heavy header line split the page, placeholder text from another project still showed up in several places, the logo was low resolution, and a “Start a project” button led nowhere.
There was also a lot of empty white space, which is the last thing a video company wants between a visitor and the work. The team wanted the site modern, clean, and simple, with moving video, and without looking like the Bay Area studios they had used for inspiration.
What they asked for
- The showreel front and center, the moment the page loads
- Client logos visible early, so the list does the selling
- Room for 12 to 20 projects, including work from a new third team member
- A contact form that reliably lands in their inbox
- Clean and quiet, never noisy
What we built
I sent a homepage concept and a walkthrough video the same day as our first call, so the team could react to a real direction instead of a description.
The homepage became the overview of the whole company. The showreel plays full-bleed in the hero, a marquee of client logos runs beneath it, and a summary of each section links through to the full pages. The work grid covers brand films, commercials, documentary, series, podcast, and stills, and each video starts playing on hover, so visitors can scan projects without clicking into every one.
Custom code handles the video loading so a media-heavy page stays quick, and small hover details on the navigation and buttons add polish without adding noise. Everything is built so the team can add new projects themselves as the reel grows.
The result
A portfolio that opens like one of their films. The client list does the talking in the first few seconds, the work is one hover away, and the site finally matches the caliber of the brands on it.
